TBT: Australian Fashion Week
With Sam and Tess heading over to Sydney to represent the XYNZ gang for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, I decided it was a good time to take a look at some red hot Australian fashion moments. Australia has a strong game when it comes to fashion, and the proof is most definitely in the pudding.
Paris Hilton 2003
With such a natural knack for, well everything, it was no wonder that Paris was bought down under to show all the other models how it is really done. That’s hot.
Romance was born 2013
Romance Was Born are always one of the most highly anticipated shows for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week and 2013 was one for the books. Pieces from this collection were worn by Lady Gaga, so basically, this is fash! Look how much fun the models had backstage!
While the designer of this glitzy yet masculine outfit is unfortunately unknown, this outfit will forever be remembered in Australian Fashion Week history. Has anyone seen the latest Topman Design collection? I think their fabric samples came from the same manufacturer. I love it!
Tsubi (Ksubi) Rats on a Stage 2001
What an entrance. Tsubi’s debut collection was more than memorable, it was also super gross. They released 170 live rats on the runway, and only 169 made it out alive, getting them in hot water with the RSPCA over the sad death of a singular rat. So many pairs of bumster jeans.
Ella Verberne for Easton Pearson 2013
I have nothing but good things to say about New Zealand’s very own Ella Verberne. And Easton Pearson? Perfect for all the funky moms out there.
Linda Evangelista for Alex Perry 1997
1997 saw this Canadian beauty take the runway in a glamazon puffy wedding dress by Alex Perry. The bodice was scattered with tasteful diamante, and was topped off with a beautiful string of 5XL pearls.
$500,000 Pearl Bikini 2000
The year 2000 saw Eva Herzigova in this red hot pearl bikini. This stunning two piece swimsuit fits like a glove and draws attention to all the right places. It can be summed up in just two words, simply elegant. And it is worth $500,000.
