Alas, the end of May is approaching and so is the Winter chills, but what better way to celebrate the end of the month than to try something new! We’ve rounded up top five things for you enjoy as we welcome the month of June.
For the dessert fiend: Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream
If you’re participating in Junk Free June, then it couldn’t get any better than this. One last hurrah before you embark on a healthier journey and support a great cause, am I right? If ice cream is one of your comfort food then you might want to visit Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream store in Ponsonby. Yummy!
For new brew favourites: Moa Vintage Sours
Mmm, we do love a bit of sour goodness. Moa’s latest vintage Sour Series is the Moa Cherry Sour Vintage 2014 and Moa Sour Blanc Vintage 2014. Enjoy these food-friendly brews with a few nibbles and let it hit the sweet spot!
Moa Cherry Sour is brewed with wheat beer base and whole Marlborough cherries. Expect fruity and earthy taste that develops more in each sip. Try pairing this with Brie or aged Gouda.
The Moa Sour Blanc, on the other hand, is described to have a much simpler taste – a perfect balance of dryness and funk. It leaves hints of vanilla that’s perfect with seafood or creamy dishes.
Available for a limited release at selected supermarkets, craft beer bars and liquor stores nationwide.
For the much-needed relaxation time: Lush Bath Bombs
Who wouldn’t like a nice, warm bath with yummy scents? Lush bath bombs are one of our favourites and we think you’d love them too! There’s a range to choose from (as you can see from the photo above), so it’s worth to add this to the list of things you can do to during me-time.
For the film enthusiasts: The Nice Guys (2016)
This action-comedy is directed by Shane Black, starring Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling. Set in ’70s Los Angeles, Crowe and Gosling are a dynamic duo with hilarious antics. We don’t want to spoil anything for you, so let’s leave it with this impression: Damn, was this movie good!
For the botanical lovers: Auckland Domain Wintergardens
If you like all things green and floral, this place may be perfect for a little weekend visit. A good place to relax, take a few snaps and enjoy the open spaces. The Wintergarden is located in the Auckland Domain and it’s open Monday–Sunday 9am to 4pm.
