Bridget Jones is Back and Funnier Than Ever

Aalllll byyyy myyyseellllffffff… Bridget Jones was one hell of a spinster in the latest Bridget Jones’s Baby (2016). The strong-willed Bridget Jones, played by Renée Zellwegger, is single again, awkward and totally available for love.

After the first two Bridget Jones films, the hopes for this one were up high and mighty, and sure enough, the third instalment did not disappoint! Bridget’s quirky antics won’t fail to get you laughing out of your chair and producing tears from your eyes.

The combination of Mr Darcy (Colin Firth-babe) and Jack (Patrick Dempsey-another babe) proved too much for Bridget (and myself for that matter). She just couldn’t keep her hands away from a lush new man that everything Mark Darcy isn’t, but a trip down memory lane with the one that got away was too hard to pass. So, in true Bridget fashion, she gets roped into something absolutely ridic. She stumbles into the hands of a dashing man and her old flame… around the same time…. Uh-oh.

Mr Darcy and Jack take it upon themselves to prove that they are ‘the best man for the occasion’. As they are all in their forty-somethings now, there were no grown up fights on the fountain, unfortunately, *cries* but their witty, passive aggressive comments were just as good we must say.

Near the end, there were enough moments to get you confused on who you really want the father to be. The old love of her life with a great comb-over and who’s always busy saving the world? Or, the new American love expert who’s basically an angel with a great “puppet”?

Verdict: The film starts you laughing, pulls a few heart strings, throws in some feminism, a lot more laughter, and ends with a complete bang of happiness for our girl Bridget, and finally (you guessed it), more laughter. It has been twelve years, and we’re glad to say that this film was worth waiting for.

Bridget Jones’s Baby (2016) = AWESOME ☆☆☆☆

Tip: Snacking isn’t recommended during this film as it may end up in the person’s hair in front of you.
